Welcome to our website!
We are an experimental research group at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria established in 2024 and working at the interface of ultrafast spectroscopy, solid-state physics, and quantum optics.
Our methods combine ultrafast optics spanning the from terahertz to the x-ray, terahertz sub-wavelength microscopy, as well as time-resolved quantum sensing with solid-state spin defects and excitons. A unifying theme across our research is the use of “nonclassical light” to interrogate and drive quantum materials and as a tool for preparing matter excitations in non-classical states. For this aim, we build our new radiation sources and detection schemes.
